With a focal length of 90mm in the 35mm format, this short telephoto lens is perfect for portraits and low-light photography. A very large f/1.8 maximum aperture can produce a surprisingly shallow depth of field, which is very effective in low light. The Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) feature provides ultra-fast, near-silent autofocus for still and video capture. The lens construction with ultra-high index lenses produces excellent contrast and sharpness in stills and video while minimizing chromatic aberration, ghosting and flare.
